Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling say their children are friends, too

NEW YORK, June 26 (UPI) -- Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling say their children helped their friendship come full circle.

The friends and former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-stars spoke to People about motherhood at the screening of their new show Mystery Girls on Tuesday. Garth has three daughters with ex Peter Facinelli, while Spelling has two sons and two daughters with estranged husband Dean McDermott.

"Our kids are becoming friends, which is really cool," Spelling told the magazine. "My kids had a sleepover last week at [McCarthy's] house. It was like full circle."

"We share stories every day," Garth revealed. "I love and respect her as a mother and she's doing a great job."

"I try to be not cool," the actress added of her own parenting. "I'm the mom with the tattoos. My kids admire the fact that I am kind of edgy personally and they actually try to keep me in line."

Spelling said her children are too young to "know that [she's] not cool anymore," but mentioned her children are becoming more and more like her.

"Liam's definitely stubborn like me," she shared. "He's creative and passionate like me [and] holds in his feelings like me. [6-year-old daughter] Stella does the same. We're best friends. [2-year-old daughter] Hattie uses her hands like me because I talk with my hands. [22-month-old son] Finn and I have a really special bond and he looks a lot like me when I was a baby."

Mystery Girls stars Garth and Spelling as former television detectives who reunite to solve a real-life mystery. The series premiered on June 25, and airs Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
