NEW YORK, April 9 (UPI) -- Nicki Minaj's mom Carol Maraj has debuted her own single, "God's Been Good."

Maraj recounts several difficult experiences in the song, including her struggle with cancer and a near-miss in a drive-by shooting. The track is a contemporary gospel song with EDM influences, and the singer credits God for bringing her through the tough times in her life.

Maraj is currently signed to Fame Star Records/MDM Music Group, and had released a teaser of the track in early March. The singer and mother stays busy with her budding music career, and also works closely with her charity, the Carol Maraj Foundation. The foundation seeks to empower victims of domestic violence.
