Angelina Jolie underwent a preventative double mastectomy last May, revealing in a New York Times op-ed that she carries the BRCA1 gene "which sharply increases my risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer."

"I started with the breasts, as my risk of breast cancer is higher than my risk of ovarian cancer, and the surgery is more complex," Jolie wrote at the time.

The Maleficent actress discussed her decision in a recent cover interview with Entertainment Weekly, telling the mag that she's been speaking to people about more surgery.

"There’s still another surgery to have, which I haven’t yet," Jolie said. "I’ll, you know, I’ll get advice from all these wonderful people who I’ve been talking to, to get through that next stage."

Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died of ovarian cancer and breast cancer at age 56.

"I was very fortunate to have great doctors and very, very fortunate to have a good recovery and have a project like Unbroken to have something to be really focused on, to be getting healthy for, and to be able to just get right back to work," she said of her mastectomy.
