SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 3 (UPI) -- Lionsgate Entertainment has shelled out $7 million for the distribution rights to the upcoming Kristen Stewart film American Ultra.

The entertainment company must anticipate a hit... because the movie has not even been filmed yet.

Director Nima Nourizadeh (Project X) is set to direct the film, which will reunite Kristen Stewart with actor Jesse Eisenberg. The two previously starred together in 2009's Adventureland.

American Ultra will be a comedy set in a small town that focuses on an unmotivated stoner named Mike (Eisenberg) and his girlfriend Phoebe (Stewart). The pair's lives take an exciting turn when Mike's past comes back to haunt him and he becomes the target of a government operation.

The film will begin shooting in New Orleans next month and is set to premiere in 2015.

Stewart will appear in three movies released this year: Camp X-Ray, Clouds of Sils Maria, and Anesthesia. Eisenberg will appear as the voice for character Blu in Rio 2, set to premiere in April, and is slated to play Lex Luthor in an upcoming Batman-Superman project.
