LOS ANGELES, June 15 (UPI) -- U.S. singer and actor Billy Ray Cyrus said the upcoming fourth season of TV's "Hannah Montana" will be the show's last.

Cyrus co-stars on The Disney Channel family comedy with his 16-year-old daughter, Miley. The cast recently completed work on the show's third season.

Cyrus said in an interview for "Access Hollywood" and "The Billy Bush Show" that Season 4 of "Montana" is expected to air in 2010 and to include 11 half-hour installments and a 1-hour series finale.

"Quite frankly, I give a lot of credit to Miley for taking it to another year," Cyrus said. "She didn't want it to just end with whatever was the last episode we did. She wanted it to build to where there's a moral to the story, to where it doesn't just end and go away and that's it. She wanted there to be an official ending to 'Hannah Montana.'"

He said the final season is slated to start shooting around the end of January.
