LOS ANGELES, June 2 (UPI) -- U.S. hip-hop star and actor Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has signed on to star in "Caught in the Crossfire," a big-screen police corruption drama.

Variety.com said the movie will co-star Chris Klein, Adam Rodriguez and Richard T. Jones.

Newcomer Brian Miller is to shoot the film in Grand Rapids, Mich., from a screenplay he wrote, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

Jackson, who starred in the film "Get Rich or Die Tryin,'" recently signed up for a role in "Jekyll and Hyde" opposite Forest Whitaker.
