LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- U.S. screenwriter and playwright Aaron Sorkin reportedly is penning a film about the creation of the wildly popular Facebook social networking Web site.

Sorkin is best known for his work on the TV shows "The West Wing" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," on the films "A Few Good Men," "The American President" and "Charlie Wilson's War" and on the plays "A Few Good Men" and "The Farnsworth Invention."

Variety.com said Scott Rudin is producing the scribe's Facebook feature for Columbia Pictures.
