TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., Aug. 3 (UPI) -- The Traverse City Film Festival in rural Michigan got some major Hollywood glitz Saturday when Madonna showed her documentary about Malawi orphans.
In addition to showing "I Am Because We Are," Madonna, a native of Michigan, held a question and answer session with the audience, The Detroit Free Press reported. The news media were barred from the session.
The film festival in Traverse City was founded by Michael Moore, the Flint, Mich., native known for documentaries like "Roger and Me" and "Fahrenheit 911." Most of the year, the city on Lake Michigan on the north end of the state's thumb, is known for its cherries.
Moore, sharing a comedy panel with Larry Charles, director of "Borat," wowed the audience by telling them he was wearing his "Madonna shorts." He also wore a black T-shirt and one of his trademark baseball caps.
Madonna, during her audience session, announced that her next world tour will include a concert in Detroit, Moore told the newspaper.
