NEW YORK, July 14 (UPI) -- Whoopi Goldberg announced Monday on her TV chat show, "The View," that she is joining the Broadway production of "Xanadu."
Goldberg, who is one of the five co-hosts of "The View," is to play two small, non-skating roles in the musical from July 29-Sept. 7, the New York Daily News said.
The Oscar-winning co-star of the film "Ghost" reportedly will sing a song called "Evil Woman" in "Xanadu," which is based on the 1980 Olivia Newton-John movie with the same name.
"I always want to be on a stage somewhere but I wanted something fun," the Daily News quoted Goldberg as saying.
Goldberg was the host of the Tony Awards last month. She has also starred in the Broadway musical "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" more than a decade ago and she is producing the revival of "For Colored Girls….," the newspaper noted.
