PAHRUMP, Nev., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Former celebrity madam Heidi Fleiss was arrested near her Nevada home for allegedly driving under the influence and possessing drugs without a prescription.
A male passenger riding in her vehicle was also arrested for allegedly possessing marijuana and being under the influence, People.com reported.
"During the investigation she was found to have prescription narcotics on her person, not in a prescription bottle, and could produce no evidence that the prescription pain medication had been prescribed to her," police in Nye County, Nev., said in a statement regarding Fleiss' arrest. "She was arrested and transported to (jail.)"
She was later released on $1,300 bail.
Fleiss, who was known as the Hollywood Madam because of her A-list clientele, was convicted of pandering and tax evasion related to her prostitution ring in 1997. She served less than two years in jail.
