NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Some of Hollywood’s funniest actors are signing up for roles in "Superhero," an action-flick send-up in the "Scary Movie" tradition.

Christopher McDonald, Leslie Nielsen, Marion Ross, Jeffrey Tambor and Brent Spiner recently joined the cast of the Dimension Films project, which also includes Drake Bell, Ryan Hansen, Kevin Hart and Sara Paxton, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Set for a March theatrical release, "Superhero" was written and will be directed by "Scary Movie 3" and "Scary Movie 4" scribe Craig Mazin, with "Airplane!" filmmaker David Zucker and "Naked Gun" veteran Robert K. Weiss producing.
