Wyman won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of a deaf-mute rape victim in the 1948 film, "Johnny Belinda." She also starred for nine years on 1980s classic, "Falcon Crest."

She had been in failing health for several years.

"I have lost a loving mother, my children Cameron and Ashley have lost a loving grandmother, my wife Colleen has lost a loving friend she called Mom and Hollywood has lost the classiest lady to ever grace the silver screen," her son, Michael Reagan, said in a statement.

Wyman was also known for her work with the Arthritis Foundation and Catholic church and was a strong supporter of Hollywood's Covenant House and Our Lady of the Angels Monastery.

She married and divorced Myron Futterman in the 1930s. Her second husband, from 1940 to 1948, was Reagan, with whom she had daughter Maureen Reagan, who died of skin cancer in 2001. They also adopted a son, Michael.
