OAKLAND, Calif., June 12 (UPI) -- The Original Family Stone funk band will take the stage at Historic Sweet's Ballroom in Oakland, Calif., Friday.
Sly Stone will not be at the event, but three of the original members -- Jerry Martini, Rose Stone and Cynthia Robinson -- will sing classics including "I Want to Take You Higher," "Thank You" and "Everyday People," the Oakland Tribune reported.

The lead vocal for the Original Family Stone will be taken over by singer Fred Ross.
St. Gabriel's Celestial Brass Band will open the show alongside American Idol finalist Donny Williams.
Tickets to the show, which is a fundraiser for Bay Area schools music programs, are $25 for general admission and $35 for VIP seating.
