LEXINGTON, Ky., May 10 (UPI) -- It took her 17 years, but actress Ashley Tyler Judd finally has her college diploma from the University of Kentucky.
Judd, 39, majored in French while at the Lexington, Ky., university from 1986-1990. She left campus just one course short of a diploma.
UK spokesman Jay Blanton told the Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader that Judd has received a bachelor of arts degree but would not reveal whether she was among the 4,000 students who graduated Sunday.
Judd, who told the newspaper last year that she would probably take a correspondence course to complete her degree, has remained a big Wildcats basketball fan. She also credits university professors for inspiring her film career and efforts as an AIDS activist.
Last year, she delivered the school's annual Blazer Lecture, speaking on social justice, feminism and spirituality.
