Marisa Tomei to star in CBS comedy pilot

LOS ANGELES, March 6 (UPI) -- Actress Marisa Tomei, who won an Oscar as the wisecracking Mona Lisa Vito in "My Cousin Vinny," has signed with CBS to headline a comedy pilot.

In "The Rich Inner Life of Penelope Cloud," Tomei will play the title character, a very smart, opinionated author who has trouble delivering the follow-up to her celebrated first novel, Variety said.

Tomei, co-starring in "Wild Hogs," had a recurring role on FX's "Rescue Me" during the 2005-06 season. "Penelope Cloud" would be her first role on a network show since she appeared in NBC's "A Different World."

She recently finished production on "Brandhauser," with John Cusack and Ben Kingsley, and Sidney Lumet's "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead," starring opposite Ethan Hawke and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
