CALCUTTA, India, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Reality TV's Jade Goody, accused of making racist remarks to an Indian actress on the British show "Celebrity Big Brother," was in India for a "private visit."
Goody, after noting that she had apologized to actess Shilpa Shetty and the public, said, "I'm here on a private visit and I'm having meetings with certain people," the Calcutta Telegraph said.

She said she was "trying to put the 'Big Brother' stuff behind me."
Goody said she wasn't visiting an Indian television company to try to shore up her career, nor was meeting with politicians during her four-day visit.
The former dental nurse said she didn't want to "make light of what happened" with Shetty, but said things were improving.
