The Doors to be honored in triplicate

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- The Doors will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award during the 49th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, the first of several honors the band will receive.

The Grammy award kicks off a trio of honors The Doors will receive throughout the year as the band marks its 40th anniversary, the band said in a news release.

Later in February, the band will be honored with the unveiling of a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, at the corner of Hollywood and Highland.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, will exhibit "Break On Through -- The Lasting Legacy Of The Doors," which will display artifacts, original manuscripts, concert posters, photographs and video. The exhibit is scheduled to open May 25.

The late Jim Morrison's previously unreleased poem, "Woman in the Window, will be released as the theme song for Global Cool, an organization of entertainers and scientists that combats global warming, it was previously announced.
