Jade Goody had surgery to shed pounds

LONDON, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Jade Goody, who rose to fame in Britain as a contestant on the Big Brother reality TV show, had liposuction to shed pounds, The Sun reports.

Goody, 25, a former dental nurse making the most of her fame, put out a best-selling fitness DVD the day after Christmas, boasting that her diet and exercise regime had helped her drop two dress sizes in a month.

"This has to be Jade's dumbest move yet," a source told newspaper. "Fans who admire her new body might be able to afford 15 pounds ($30) for the DVD, but unlike Jade, they can't spend thousands on cosmetic surgery."

The fat-sucking procedure cost about $9,000, The Sun said.
