Boyle, who played Frank Barone on the popular CBS sitcom, succumbed to cancer and heart disease last Tuesday at the age of 71.

"When I came out to L.A. to do 'Everybody Loves Raymond,' I knew no one. Peter immediately took me under his wing and became my friend and mentor," Romano said. "He gave me great advice, he always made me laugh, and the way he connected with everyone around him amazed me."

"Entertainment Tonight" reported that also paying their respects to Boyle's wife, Lorraine, and two daughters, Amy and Lucy, were actors Alan Alda, Chevy Chase and Lorraine Bracco.
