LAS VEGAS, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- R&B star Stevie Wonder has figured prominently in recent tributes to U.S. music icon Tony Bennett in a series of high-profile appearances.

Wonder sings a duet with Bennett on the 80-year-old singer' new album and the two performed together on Bennett's recent NBC TV special. Wonder presented Bennett with a lifetime achievement award at Monday's Billboard Music Awards.

In addition to Wonder, Bennett's "Duets: An American Classic" album features such standouts as Barbra Streisand, Paul McCartney and U2 singer Bono.

Wonder filled in as Bennett's presenter at the Billboard awards after the show's hosts, singer Britney Spears and heiress Paris Hilton, pulled out for unreported reasons, The Daily Mail reported.

Wonder has won 21 Grammy awards, as well as a best song Oscar for "I Just Called to Say I Love You."
