New Slayer CD yanked in India

MUMBAI, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- The new Slayer CD "Christ Illusion" is being recalled in India due to protests from Christian groups.

Record company EMI Virgin India last week apologized to those offended by the heavy metal group's latest offering, which includes a one-eyed Jesus on the cover and a track called "Skeleton Christ," KNAC.com reported.

The Mumbai-based Catholic Secular Forum, which led the uproar, took exception to another track called "Jihad," which it said would likely offend Muslims.

"Christ Illusion" had been on India's record shelves for only a week and had not moved that many copies anyway, KNAC said.
