50 Cent facing suit for concert assault

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Two women have filed lawsuits claiming rapper 50 Cent physically attacked them at a 2004 concert in Springfield, Mass.

The suit filed in Hampden County Court claims the rapper born Curtis James Jackson III stopped his performance and jumped from the Hippodrome stage into the audience after someone sprayed him with water.

Donna DeJesus, 25, said she was punched in the face and Taneka Nesbitt, 27, said the rapper threw her to the floor causing an injury that later required knee surgery, AllHipHop.com reported Tuesday.

Jackson was charged with assault and battery and reached a plea agreement in May 2005 calling for two years of random drug tests and his attendance at anger management classes. He was also ordered to make a an anti-violence public service announcement.

The suit filed by the two women is seeking an undisclosed amount of money, AllHipHop.com said.
