It is possible to win millions of dollars and the show features a last-minute twist that can even alter how much cash the players take home.

Endemol USA's David Goldberg said Kimmel was on the top of the list of people he wanted to host "Set for Life."

Kimmel's first large TV role was serving as co-host on Comedy Central's "Win Ben Stein's Money."

"Jimmy's a very funny and witty entertainer and at his best in front of a live audience," Goldberg said. "I think he has that everyman quality and a genuine accessibility that should help him as he deals with ordinary people tempting to become set for life."
