Two major films affected by star injuries

LOS ANGELES, March 13 (UPI) -- The filming of two movies has been affected by injuries to stars Nick Nolte and Jon Heder.

Director Gavin O'Connor, shooting "Pride and Glory" in New York, was forced to recast his lead when Nolte's chronic knee injury flared up on the set, Daily Variety reported Monday.

Jon Voight has taken over as the patriarch in a family of police officers in the film also starring Edward Norton, Colin Farrell and Noah Emmerich.

Meanwhile, "Napolean Dynamite" star Jon Heder fractured his ankle while honing his skating skills for his role in "Blades of Glory," Variety reported.

DreamWorks is trying to get Warner Bros. to push up filming of Heder's "Mama's Boy," which would push back the filming date of the ice skating comedy and allow the star time to properly heal.

The wildcard in the filming date roulette is Heder's co-star in "Mama's Boy," Diane Keaton, who would have to move around her filming schedule to make the switch work, Variety said.
