McCauley Culkin says work is scarce

NEW YORK, March 6 (UPI) -- At age 25, former child star Macaulay Culkin describes himself as "the most out-of-work actor I know."

The New Yorker who shot to fame in the "Home Alone" films tells Time magazine he has led "a very isolated existence" since the age of 6.

Culkin has written a novel, "Junior," which he says is based in part on his relationship with his father. The book will be released this month.

Culkin, who was frequently photographed with pop star Michael Jackson as a youth and testified to his character during his California child molestation trial, says they barely speak any more.

"He's a friend, but the kind of friend you talk to twice a year," Culkin told Time. He said the two have communicated only once since Jackson's acquittal and subsequent move to Bahrain.
