Fox signs up for Saturday night talker

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Fox TV may be testing the water for a daily late night talk show with its new Saturdays-only "Talk Show with Spike Feresten."

The new half-hour talk show will follow "Mad TV" starting this fall, Daily Variety reported Monday.

Feresten, who will be executive producer of his show as well as host, is a former writer for "Seinfeld" and the "Late Show with David Letterman," Variety noted.

Todd Yasui, who produced Feresten's pilot, was recently put in charge of late night programming for Fox with the goal developing competitive late night programming, The Reporter said.
