LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- The Cinema Audio Society has tapped Quentin Tarantino to receive its inaugural filmmaker award, it was announced Sunday.
The group cited Tarantino's writing, directing and producing in announcing the honor, Daily Variety reported.

The career achievement award will be presented to Michael Minkler, and sound mixing awards will be handed out in five categories during the 42nd annual Cinema Audio Society Awards Banquet Feb. 25 in Los Angeles.
