LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- He's skewered dog shows, folk music and theater and now Christopher Guest is taking on film awards with "For Your Consideration."

The film about the shooting of a bad movie will star Ricky Gervais, Catherine O'Hara, Parker Posey, Harry Shearer, Eugene Levy, Bob Balaban, Jennifer Coolidge, Michael McKean and Fred Willard, Daily Variety reports.

The story will revolve around three actors who are making a really bad small film, "Home for Purim." Their lives are upended when a "buzz" starts that their performances could result in awards nominations.

Guest said "For Your Consideration" is not being shot in the mockumentary style of "Waiting for Guffman," "Best in Show" or "A Mighty Wind," but will include a lot of improvising by its stars.

The film is being targeted for release in fall 2006.
