LAS VEGAS, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Harvey Fierstein will reprise his Tony Award-winning performance as housewife Edna Turnblad in the Las Vegas production of "Hairspray."
The Luxor hotel-casino will begin previews of the show Feb. 6, producers Michael Gill and Myron Martin told Saturday's Los Angeles Times.

Fierstein is playing Tevye in the Broadway revival of "Fiddler on the Roof," which closes Jan. 8.
Gill said the original opening of the Vegas "Hairspray" production was pushed back to accommodate the star.
