Will farwell be Eagles' Farewell?

DALLAS, May 31 (UPI) -- Despite a network TV special and a new DVD, the Eagles may be on the verge of nesting, a band member indicates.

NBC is airing a two-hour concert Wednesday, "The Eagles Farewell I Tour," which was filmed last year in Australia. A DVD, "Farewell I tour: Live From Melbourne" is due out June 7. But the group's Don Henley says because the Eagles have been unable to record a new studio album, "Farewell I may turn out to be farewell, period."

"The band is nowhere, really, in my estimation," Henley says, though he adds the situation changes "from week to week, so I take everything with a grain of salt now. If it's the end, it's the end. And if it's not, then that's fine, too."

The Eagles will be assembling in July in Los Angeles to take another stab at recording. Two new songs appear on the "Farewell I" special and DVD. Henley, meanwhile, will play nine shows with former lover Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, starting Friday in Philadelphia.
