Illegitimate Lindbergh children tell all

BERLIN, May 29 (UPI) -- Three illegitimate German children of Charles Lindbergh have revealed details of the legendary aviator's secret love life.

Dyrk Hesshaimer, David Hesshaimer, and Astrid Bouteuil told author Rudolf Schroeck about the late pilot's affairs with their mother, Brigitte, her sister Marietta, and allegedly his private secretary for Schroeck's book, "The Secret Life of Charles A Lindbergh," the Sunday Telegraph reported. The three children, now middle aged, were revealed to be Lindbergh's children after DNA tests in 2003.

Lindbergh, the first pilot to fly non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean, met Brigitte and Marietta at a Munich dinner party in 1957, when he was 55 and married to American Anne Morrow, the children said.

The sisters were friends of his secretary, Valeska, with whom he was already embroiled in a relationship, according to Schroeck.

"I am aware that our actions have tainted the image of an impeccable American hero," said Bouteuil. "But they also reveal that a man once thought of as emotionless and unattainable was in fact a caring and loving father."
