Father of Lindsay Lohan given sentence

MINEOLA, N.Y., May 28 (UPI) -- Michael Lohan, the father of actress Lindsay Lohan, has been sentenced to 1-1/3 to four years in a New York prison.

Judge Claire Weinberg, who had once before given Michael Lohan a chance to avoid prison by attending a long-term rehab program only to see him re-arrested for drunk driving, refused to spare him time in prison, the New York Daily News reported Saturday.

Michael Lohan was sentenced for up tp 14 months for drunken driving, contempt of court and assaulting his brother-in-law.

"(He) was given every opportunity to address what he said was his problem, but instead he got re-arrested for the exact same behavior," Nassau County prosecutor Joy Watson said.
