SANTA MARIA, Calif., May 13 (UPI) -- Michael Jackson's lawyers grilled a British filmmaker whose documentary on the pop star led to charges of child molestation in California.
Jackson's lawyers showed jurors who are hearing evidence in the case the unedited version of interviews the singer gave in 2003 to Martin Bashir, who was seen and heard in the outtakes lavishing praise on the 46-year-old singer and dancer, the Times of London reported Friday.
"My life, my romantic development was shaped by your records," Bashir said in the "Living with Michael Jackson" clips that were not show. Bashir also said, "Your relationship with your children is spectacular."
The documentary's final version dwelt on the fact Jackson had shared a bed with the 13-year-old boy whose subsequent allegations of molestation triggered the current trial.
Meanwhile, the judge Thursday ordered celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos to testify Friday as subpoenaed by Jackson's lawyers. Geragos had represented Jackson in the case before being replaced last year.
Jackson has denied all charges and is free on $3 million bail.
