LOS ANGELES, May 3 (UPI) -- NBC has renewed "Will & Grace" for an eighth season, the network announced Tuesday.
Kevin Reilly, president of NBC Entertainment, also announced that Gary Janetti, Tracy Poust and Jon Kinnally have been promoted from co-executive producers to show-running executive producers.
Before joining the Emmy-winning "Will & Grace," Janetti developed a pilot for Cheri Oteri at 20th Century Fox TV, and spent three seasons as a writer and producer on the animated comedy "Family Guy."
Poust and Kinnally -- a writing team -- were part of the "Will & Grace" writing staff during its first season and went on to become producers and supervising producers.
"Will & Grace" -- starring Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally -- has been nominated for 49 Emmys, 24 Golden Globes and 14 Screen Actors Guild Awards. It has won 12 Emmys, including Outstanding Comedy Series in 2000.
