MONTREUX, Switzerland, April 12 (UPI) -- The Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland is not just about jazz any more, it has signed top rock, R&B and blues acts as well.
Rock stars such as Alice Cooper, Brian Wilson, Elvis Costello, Garbage, Velvet Revolver, Kasabian and Queens of the Stone Age are scheduled for the 16-day July festival, the BBC reported Tuesday.
"The jazz festival hasn't been a jazz festival for many, many years," a spokeswoman for the festival said. "It covers a very, very broad musical spectrum."
A blues night featuring B.B. King and Solomon Burke is also scheduled.
Pianist Oscar Peterson is the biggest name signed from the jazz world, the BBC said.
