LONDON, April 6 (UPI) -- Actress Brooke Shields is preparing to star as Roxie Hart in the hit musical "Chicago" during a nine-week run at London's Adelphi Theater.
Shields will perform in the 2 1/2 hour show, eight times a week, starting April 26, the Daily Mail said Wednesday.

"She's going to bring some great pizzazz, sex appeal and excitement to the part," said a spokesman for the upcoming production. "Brooke has an amazing star quality and looks absolutely fantastic."
The actress shot to fame at the age of 12 as a child prostitute in "Pretty Baby" and in 1981 played a marooned teenager in "The Blue Lagoon."
