Olsen twins to sell unused Manhattan digs

NEW YORK, March 30 (UPI) -- Twin millionaires Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are selling their $7.3 million Manhattan apartment without having ever lived in it, People magazine reports.

"It turned out to be too much space, along with the fact that the renovation was going to take far longer than anyone expected," said publicist, Michael Pagnotta. "It just didn't make sense anymore. Their needs changed in terms of their living situations."

The former child star sisters purchased the 6,000-square-foot unit with plans of living there while attending New York University where they began studying last fall.

Pagnotta said both have enrolled at NYU again for this fall, and said the sale had nothing to do with Mary-Kate's health after a six-week rehab stay for an eating disorder.

"Mary-Kate is doing OK and is focused on finishing up the school year," he said.

When the Olsens turned 18 in June 2004, they became co-presidents of their Dualstar Entertainment Group, which markets clothing, makeup, books, videos, games and home decorations to young girls.
