Professor Sprout axed from 'Potter' film

LONDON, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Professor Sprout has been axed from the fifth "Harry Potter" film, "Order of the Phoenix," although her character appears in the book, it was reported Friday.

Miriam Margoyles, who played the happy gardener in prior films based on the "Harry Potter" children's series, will not be in the upcoming movie, Britain's Sun said.

"I am not making the fifth Harry Potter. They made a great mistake and cut my character," Margoyles said.

The news likely will disappoint Potter fans, who have become accustomed to the Hollywood films staying true to J.K. Rowling's books.
