Former teen-age movie icons teamed in play

NEW YORK, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Molly Ringwald and Jason Biggs have been cast in the premiere of "Modern Orthodox," a comedy by Daniel Goldfarb opening at Dodger Stages Nov. 11.

The play tells the story of three New Yorkers dealing with issues of faith and with one another. The third starring actor will be Craig Bierko, playing Ringwald's love interest.

Ringwald, 36, achieved cinema stardom in 1980s comic film melodramas such as "Sixteen Candles." She was last seen on the stage in New York in the Broadway production "Enchanted April" two seasons ago.

Biggs, 26, also starred on Broadway in 2002 in the stage version of "The Graduate" opposite Kathleen Turner. He first won film fame in "American Pie" three years ago.

Bierko's last Broadway role was Prof. Harold Hill in the 2000 revival of "The Music Man."

Dodger Stages is a new Broadway area five-stage multiplex.
