Freaky Zeeky robber found guilty of murder

NEW YORK, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- A New York jury found a parolee guilty of murder in a robbery and shooting involving Freaky Zeeky that left the rapper's friend dead.

Chauncey Dillon, a convicted robber and drug dealer, was convicted of felony murder, attempted robbery and gun possession and assault charges Tuesday, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

The charges stem from the attempted robbery of a $20,000 gold and diamond medallion worn by Freaky Zeeky, whose real name is Ezekial Jiles, when the two were involved in a minor traffic accident in April 2003.

After the vehicles collided, Dillon and two passengers pulled guns on Giles and his friends, shooting the rapper in the stomach and shooting and killing Eric Mangrum.

Dillon, who faces life in prison, is scheduled for sentencing Nov. 5.

John Mingo and Herndon Williams, who also were charged in the shooting, are awaiting their own murder trials.
