LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Tom Waits plans just one U.S. concert date before launching a European tour in November, a publicist for the singer said Monday.
Waits -- whose new CD "Real Gone" is due in stores next week -- will perform on Oct. 18 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle. His Oct. 15 date at the Orpheum in Vancouver sold out in under 10 minutes.
Waits' publicist said the first date on his European tour -- Nov. 13 in Antwerp, Belgium -- sold out, with 52,000 calls for 990 seats. November shows in Berlin and London are also sold out.
Tickets for shows in Amsterdam Nov. 19-21 are scheduled to go on sale Oct. 2. A limited number of tickets for Waits' Seattle appearance go on sale at midnight, Oct. 4, at two Tower Records locations in Seattle, while the rest of the tickets will be made available at the Paramount Box Office and Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. on Oct. 5.
Waits is scheduled to appear on "Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday, and may set up a U.S. tour in 2005.
