'Jeopardy' champ reportedly finally loses

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Ken Jennings, a Utah man who holds "Jeopardy's" record for the most wins on the U.S. TV quiz show, reportedly ended his winning streak after his 75th game.

Unidentified sources said Jennings, whose 41st victory was broadcast Wednesday, was defeated at Tuesday's taping of the show after earning approximately $2.5 million in cash and prizes on the long-running game show. His final episode likely will air later this fall, TV Week reported Thursday.

"Jeopardy" officials would not confirm news of Jennings' loss, and Jennings was tight-lipped in an appearance on CBS "Early Morning" Thursday.

"'Jeopardy!' is now in its 21st season, and since its inception we have never disclosed whether a contestant has won or lost before a show has aired. We have no intention of changing this policy," said an unidentified spokesperson for the show.

Jennings, a software engineer, began his winning streak June 2, continued winning throughout the summer and returned on Monday's season premiere.

The series' limit on five consecutive wins was lifted at the beginning of the last season.

The paper said "The Happy Days 30" will feature everyone from the original cast of Garry Marshall's hit comedy -- including Ron Howard and Henry Winkler, who will executive produce the special.

Variety said no airdate has been set, but the special might run during a ratings sweep period, possibly as soon as November.

Plans call for appearances by Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams -- who first appeared as Laverne DiFazio and Shirley Feeney on "Happy Days," and then went on to star in the hit comedy, "Laverne & Shirley." Other cast members slated to appear include Tom Bosley, Marion Ross, Erin Moran, Anson Williams, Don Most, Scott Baio, Pat Morita, Crystal Bernard, Linda Purl and Cathy Silvers.

ABC executive Andrea Wong said the network had been wanting to do the special for a long time.

"It was an absolute no-brainer," she said.

Gwyneth threatens paparazzi arrests

LONDON, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Gwyneth Paltrow reportedly may press charges against photographers who follow her throughout London because the actress fears for her baby's safety.

"They chase you in cars, and I will start pressing charges because they're endangering me by the way they drive. It's really scary. It's just unacceptable, especially when there's a life of a small baby in your hands," the actress said, Britain's Daily Mail reported Thursday.

Interest in Paltrow and husband Chris Martin of the band Coldplay has intensified since the May birth of daughter Apple.

Paltrow, 31, said she has started taking names of the most obnoxious photographers.

"It's really frustrating. I wish people would just let us get on with it once in a while and let us have a normal day together. You can't win, no matter which way you do it. I don't know why there's this insatiable interest," she said.

Paltrow currently stars with Jude Law in "Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow."
