Adam Sandler stars in the Paramount Pictures-Columbia Pictures remake of the 1974 original, in which Reynolds -- a former pro football player -- led the prisoners in a bone-crunching contest against a team specially selected by the warden, played by Eddie Albert.

Reynolds and Chris Rock are also in the cast of the remake, which is being directed by Sandler's "50 First Dates" and "Anger Management" director, Peter Segal.

Turturro -- known to viewers of "NYPD Blue" as Detective James Martinez -- is also featured in the upcoming independent feature, "The Hillside Strangler."
