NEW YORK, June 9 (UPI) -- While many old movies from the 1980s have produced sequels, the Gremlins will apparently not be revisited anytime soon.
"I somehow doubt it, there have been attempts over the past couple of years to come up with a Gremlins 3," director Joe Dante, told Empire magazine exclusively.

"The technology that drove the first two pictures is so dated now that any new Gremlins movie would have to be CGI, but I think the prosaicness of the puppetry and all that stuff we had in the first two movies really defined those pictures.
"Anybody who did a new Gremlins movie would have to make it as different from those two pictures as they possibly could."
