Diane Lane settles suit with film house

LOS ANGELES, May 12 (UPI) -- Actress Diane Lane has settled her breach of contract lawsuit with a Hollywood film company that failed to pay her for a movie that never materialized.

Lane reportedly reached a satisfactory agreement last week after suing the Intermedia production company for millions of dollars because the film house failed to uphold its "pay or play" agreement, E! Online reported Wednesday.

Lane was set to star with Bruce Willis in Intermedia's "Me Again," a film that fizzled because Intermedia couldn't finance Willis' salary. Because of the terms of Lane's contract -- "pay or play" -- she was due her salary whether the film was made or not.

Intermedia allegedly paid Lane only $833,000, leaving a balance of almost $2.7 million, E! Online said.

The actress spent a year in court to get her money, a situation which both parties reportedly are happy to have resolved.
