Jesse Jackson debuts radio talk show

CHICAGO, March 31 (UPI) -- U.S. civil rights activist, the Rev. Jesse Jackson will host a radio show about cultural, political and religious issues, it was announced Wednesday.

The show, titled "Keep Hope Alive," will debut Sunday on six major stations owned by Clear Channel Communications, the largest U.S. radio broadcaster. Additional markets will be added during the year, a Clear Channel statement said.

"We will discuss the central issues -- local, national and international -- of our time," Jackson said.

"We will offer information, inspiration, direction and many points of view. We will talk with and hear from you. We intend to connect the nation through shared conversation; your voice matters. Remember, in the beginning was the word. The word and you have the power. Keep hope alive."

Jackson's show will originate from WGCI-AM, Chicago, with other broadcasts set to air in New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Detroit and Norfolk, Va.
