New Iraq war documentary by New York Times

NEW YORK, D.C., March 23 (UPI) -- New York Times Television announced Tuesday its co-production of the documentary, "The Perfect War," with Germany's ZDF.

Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen Television is Germany's leading public television broadcaster.

The two one-hour programs examine the advances in military technology that have been used in recent conflicts globally, in locations such as Afghanistan and Iraq.

"The Perfect War" takes an in-depth, critical look at America's new weapons of war and examines what the future of war will look like.

Featuring investigative reporting by New York Times and ZDF correspondents, the program combines battle footage from Iraq and other military engagements, expert commentary and analysis, and 3D graphics all in order to examine the vast technological, economic and geopolitical dimensions of this topic.

"The Perfect War" will premiere on ZDF Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:15 p.m. CET, with airdates for other international broadcasters to follow.
