NEW YORK, March 12 (UPI) -- Actress Liv Tyler says her rocker dad Steven Tyler often seems puzzled by her decision to live a quiet, stable life.
"My dad is always ... surprised by me and the decisions I make, and I'm so young and the decisions he was making at my age were horrible," the 26-year-old actress said of the Aerosmith frontman she discovered was her father about 16 years ago. Her mother was a former model and die-hard rock fan who dated Tyler briefly.
"He always says to me: 'Where did you come from? Who are you?'" she told reporters in New York. "But I've really learned a lot from the mistakes that they've made and they really paved the way for so many people, and I really admire that. I still, to this day, go to see my father play and I can't believe how beautiful and amazing and talented he is."
Asked what specifically surprises her wild-man pop about her life, Tyler noted: "I've been a pretty consistent working woman since I was about 14 years and I've never been particularly rebellious and I'm married and I love my husband and I have a home. I'm just sort of establishing building blocks and creating a foundation for my life."
Liv Tyler, who co-starred in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, can next be seen in the new Kevin Smith film, "Jersey Girl."
