First gay kiss for Britain's radio soap

LONDON, March 1 (UPI) -- Listeners to Britain's "The Archers" will hear the radio soap's first gay kiss on an upcoming episode, The Sun reported Monday.

The kiss, which insiders say will be audible to listeners, will be between Adam Macy, the show's first homosexual character, played by Andrew Wincott, and chef Ian Craig, played by Stephen Kennedy.

The episode featuring the kiss is scheduled to air in two weeks. Scriptwriters are reported to be uncertain about whether the kiss will lead to an ongoing relationship.

"The Archers," a BBC Radio 4 series, is set in the fictional village of Ambridge.
