Oprah voted top TV personality

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- For the second consecutive year, Oprah Winfrey has been voted the most popular TV personality in the U.S., Zap2It.com reported Friday.

Winfrey, host of her eponymous talk show, ranked No. 1 in the most recent Harris Interactive Poll. During the 11 years that Harris has ranked top TV personalities, Winfrey has remained in the top three.

David Letterman, with whom Winfrey has a tense public relationship, came in at No. 2.

Fox News personality Bill O'Reilly was the fastest mover on the list, ranking No. 3 after only three years. Ray Romano, last year's No. 2, came in No. 4.

"Daily Show" host Jon Stewart, his first year on the list, tied for No. 6 with Dr. Phil McGraw.

Also new to the list were "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" star William Peterson (No. 8), Whoopi Goldberg (No. 9) and Ellen DeGeneres and Martin Sheen (tied for No. 10).

TV journalists Katie Couric, Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather all dropped out of the Top 10.

The Harris Poll, conducted online in late November 2003, sampled 2,376 adults.
